Michael Clayton.
I saw that Tilda Swinton won an Oscar for her role as a big company lawyer in the movie Michael Clayton. Overall, I kind of liked the movie, but the plot involving her and some hired killers struck me as preposterous. << SPOILER ALERT >>. Basically she hires a couple of assassins to kill some other lawyers her company has hired. One of them being George Clooney who figures out the scheme and wears a wire and busts her. Her role was a caricature of evil corporate sharks/lawyers.
1. I didn't believe it. Does this really happen? Would Archer Daniels Midland hire killers? It's possible but not probable. Because you would get caught. Karen Silkwood might be a counter example but I'm not convinced she was killed. Even if she was, they didn't blow up her car, they ran her off the road. (Maybe if she'd been wearing a seatbelt she'd still be around to tell us what happened. (Maybe Nader will get on this when his administration comes on.))
2. A Civil Action covered similar territory - nasty companies poisoning people with their products/byproducts. I thought it was more believable. Though Michael Clayton was more dramatic and moved faster and the bad guys really got theirs.
