DNC 2008
I went downtown Thursday afternoon to see what was going on with the DNC. It looked like pretty much the whole thing was over except for the speeches going on at Mile High. No riots, no protests.
There were more people around than usual but other than that I didn't notice much. Supposedly there were quite a few actors and such around town. Didn't see any. Not that I minded.
I did see a few bums, so the story about them being ethnically cleansed for the duration was off or exaggerated.
On Wednesday I was going to the Brueggers bagel shop in the DU area and a white kid with dread locks wearing a tie died t-shirt gave me flyer for a Ralph Nader speech. I took the flyer but declined to go to the Nader show. I did, however, catch a couple of minutes of Tom Morello's act during it on tv. He said some hassle some protesters experienced earlier that day was a real 'Tianamen Square' situation. I thought that was pretty funny.
Speaking of funny, I recall that I thought the election was going to be Guiliani vs. Hillary. Shows how much I know.
