Rebuilding New Orleans.
If you build below sea level and you use levees to keep the water out, should you really be surprised that a hurricane wipes out big chunks of your city? I dont' think it's such a smart move to rebuild in areas that aren't naturally maintainable.
I get the same feeling when the usual summer forest fires burn up peoples houses in the Mountains. Maybe you shouldn't have built there.
And people build houses by the beach and get government backed insurance cause no smart company will insure them. Dont build there.
Just cause you can do something doesn't mean you should. Looking around Denver, it seems like the town is totally car motivated. How many people do I see walking to work on Hampden? Not many. I see a mile long line of cars waiting to get onto 1-25 though. Any ideas about what will happen when oil isn't so cheap? Not alot is designed for the pedestrian. On Hampden, when I go to work, I walk across big-ass parking lots and landscaping. Because no thought was given to the fact that someone might walk to my building. Its a bunch of stip malls, drive through food places, etc. The people who are in charge of development kind of suck.
